A RESOLUTION GRANTING, UPON THE
ISSUANCE OF A TEMPORARY PERMIT BY
THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT
OF BUSINESS REGULATION, DIVISION
OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND
TOBACCO, THE REQUEST OF THE
CERAMIC LEAGUE OF MIAMI TO SELL
BEER FOR A TWO DAY PERIOD IN
CONNECTION WITH THE 36TH ANNUAL
CERAMIC LEAGUE FAIR TO BE HELD
DECEMBER 'i AND 8, 1985, IN KENNETH
MYERS PARK; SUBJECT TO THE
ISSUANCE OF ALL PERMITS REQUIRED
BY LAW; FURTHER AUTHORIZI14G THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A TWO-DAY
NONEXCLUSIVE CONCESSION AGREEMENT
WITH THE ORGANIZATION IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY.
WHEREAS, the Ceramic League of Miami has planned its 36th
Annual Fair on December 7 and 8, 1985; and
WHEREAS, the event will take place in Kenneth Myers Park and
will include the sale of ceramics, food and beverages;
WHEREAS, the Ceramic League of Miami has requested
permission to sell beer for a two-day period on December 7 and 8,
1985, in connection with the event; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the
City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft
containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations
as the City Commission shall prescribe;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Upon the issuance of a temporary permit by the
Florida State Department of Business Regulation, Division of
Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, to sell beer and wine, and
pursuant to the City Code , the request of by the Ceramic League
of Miami to sell beer and wine for a two-day period in connection
with the 36th Annual Ceramic League Fair to be held at Kenneth
Myers Park on December 7 and 8, 1985, is hereby granted in
compliance with Ordinance No. 9818, further subject to the
issuance of all permits required by law.

BACKGROUND:
The Ceramic League of Miami has planned its 36th Annual Fair in
Kenneth Myers Park on December 7 and 8, 1985. The event will include
60 or 70 booths selling ceramics, food and beverages. Proceeds will
help to sustain the Ceramic League school and community service
projects throughout the fiscal year. The organization has arranged
to pay all costs for City services and has requested no funding from
the City.
The Parks and Recreation Department has recommended that permission
be granted to the Ceramic League of Miami to sell beer and wine in
Kenneth Myers Park in connection with the Fair, subject to the
issuance of the necessary permit by the Florida Department of
Business Regulation. It has also recommended that a two-day
nonexclusive concession agreement with the organization be
authorized.
