A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE 1985 INDY RACE CAR EXH1131TION TO BE CONDUCTED NY THE DOWNTOWN MIAMI BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, INC. AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR T ! A F F I C AND ESTAPLISHING A TEMPORARY EXHIPIT10N CENTER SUBJECT TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS PY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FiRE, RESCUE, AND INSPECTION SERVICES, FURTHER ESTABLISHING AN AREA t PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING THE PERIOD OF SAID EVENT. WHEREAS, the 1985 Indy Race has been planned for the November 8,9,and 10, 1985; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Miami Business Association, Inc. (DMBA) has requested the herein street closings for the event; i 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE i T RESOLVED BY THE COMM I SS I ON OF THE C I TY OF M I AM I, FLORIDA: 1 Section 1 In order to effectuate safe passage and 1 establish a temporary exhibition center for the cars 1 participating in the 1985 Indy Race Car Exhibition, the following streets are hereby closed to through traffic from 1 1 : 0 0 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 1985. FIagIer Street from Biscayne Boulevard to Miami Avenue„ Section 2. Such closing of streets Is subject to the .t issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Flre Rescue i and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of �i Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses, and religious z institutions In the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and upon favorable exercise of the City Managers tJ, judgement predicated upon all matters set forth herein. These approved resolutions are noncontroversial in nature and, unless otherwise indicated by me or requested by the City Manager, should be placed in the Consent Agenda segment of your printed City Commission Agenda. You are informed of the nature of these items by means of our regular transmittal memorandum/receipts which identify such resolutions. Further, the number of the motion being formalized appears in the upper left-hand corner of the resolution title page together with the date of the Commission Meeting at which the original motion was adopted.
