WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 16, 1985 for the furnishing of 3000 Printed Copies of the Niami Comprehensive Neighborhood '.Iahs to the Department of Building and Vehicle {Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were .nailed to 18 potential suppliers and 2 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1985-86 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this material will be used by the Department of Planning for the purpose of supplying developers, contractors, community leaders, business owners and other City departments with a comprehensive guide to streets and neighborhoods within the City limits of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Ormotit Graphics be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid, - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The October 16, 1985 bid of Ormont Graphics for furnishing 3000 Printed Copies of the Niami Comprehensive Neighborhood maps to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance at a total proposed cost of $5,360.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1985-86 Operating Budget. The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission FROM: Sergio Pereira City Manager DATE- MO • 1 81985 FILE: 33 SUBJECT: Request to Award Bid for the Printing of the Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Map REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDS THAT A RESOLUTION BE PASSED ACCEPTING THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BID FROM ORMONT GRAPHICS, FOR THE PRINTING OF 3,000 COPIES OF THE MIAMI COMPREHENSIVE 1 NEIGHBORHOOD MAP AT A TOTAL COST OF $5,360.00. THIS BID WAS SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO CITY OF MIAMI BID #84-85-127. A TOTAL OF TWO (2) BIDS WERE SUBMITTED AND BOTH BIDS WERE SUBMITTED FROM NON -MINORITY FIRMS. THE LOW BID RECEIVED IS FROM ORMONT GRAPHICS, WHICH IS 3 A NON -MINORITY COMPANY. s f 4 Pursuant to the issuance of Bid #84-85-127, two (2) bids were received for the printing of the Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Map. Four (4) other vendors responded with "NO BID". The two (2) bids received have been carefully analyzed by this Department and it is determined that Ormont Graphics, a non -minority firm, has submitted the lowest responsible and • s responsive bid. r The Print Shop Division of the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department provides all City departments and their agencies with duplicating services. In addition, the Print Shop Division provides contractual services, outside, when printing projects exceed normal printing requirements. The specifications for the Planning Department's Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Map requires oversize printing equipment and supplies to produce 3,000 copies of this project. The Planning Department's Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Map supplies developers, contractors, Community leaders, business owners and other City departments with a comprehensive guide to streets and neighborhoods within the City limits of Miami. After an extensive study of the 1977 Comprehensive Neighborhood Map the Planning Department saw needs for updating this publication.
