This alternative provided the developers with the option of constructing a minimum of 225 units of moderate income housing on the mainland at three separate locations excluding the Cvertowntpark West project area and further stipulated that the developers were to submit for City consideration recommended development sites within six months or by January 25, 1986. On December 12, 1985 Mr. Robert Traurig, representing the Claughton Island developers, submitted for the City Commissionts consideration three sites capable of supporting the required 225 units of moderate income housing. The proposed sites are therefore submitted for your review and consideration. The developers will be present to answer any questions relative to these sites. The material submitted with this fetter provides you with specific information relative to each of the sites. it is respectfully requested that each of these proposed locations be approved as an acceptable site, with the understanding, however, that the developer shall not be required to provide more than a total of 225 moderate income affordable units. This site was selected as it responds to a very real need i for additional housing units in this area of the City. The commercial space with the required perking All face onto N.W. 7th Avenue and will serve to solidify N.W. 7th Avenue as a successful retail area. The 157 residential units will be located adjacent to the existing retirement housing facility.
