SS`1,ec2132 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GENERAL EMPLOYEES' AND SANITATION EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT TRUST AS PROVIDED FOR BY CITY OF MIAMI ORDINANCE NO. 10002, (SECTIONS 40-226 AND 40-227) FOR A SPECIFIED TERM OF OFFICE. WHEREAS, an appointment needs to be made to the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees and term of office specified; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individual is hereby appointed as a member of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve a regular term of office expiring September 30, 1986: NAME: T. WILLARD FAIR Section 2. The above appointment is made pursuant to City Ordinance No. 10002, (Sections 40-226 and 40-227). PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19thday of December _, 1985. Od l 0 City Manager REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: Two It is recommended that the City Commission select one name from the attached list submitted by the Sanitation Employees Association to be appointed as a member of the City of Miami General Employees' and Sanitation Employees' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees per the attached Resolution in accordance with Ordinance No. 1002 and Motion No. M-85-1066. All of the City labor unions were required to submit names to the City Commission for selection as appointees to the Pension Boards. The Sanitation Employees Association submitted the name of Senator Carrie Meeks who was ineligible to be.appointed to the Board consistent with the settlement of the Gates lawsuit. On October 10, 1985, the City Commission passed Motion No. M-85-1066 directing the Sanitation Employees Association to resubmit a list of names for selection of the final Pension Board member. Mr. William Smith, Executive Director of the Sanitation Employees Association, refiled a fist of six names (see copy attached) with the Office of Labor Relations on November 18, 1985. Unfortunately, that was too late to make the agenda for the Commission Meeting of November 26, 1985. An appointment of one name from this list should be made to complete the Pension Board reorganization. The names are as follows: 1) T. Willard Fair, President and Chief Executive Officer, Urban League of Greater Miami 2) Gail Williams, Neighborhood Health Services 3) Peter Rouhlac, Jobs for Miami 4) Lynette Williams, Housing Specialist 5) Burt Shepard, Banker 6) Ron Tonkins, Certified Public Accountant Upon the selection of one of the six names herein, the Pension Board for the General Employees'/Sanitation Employees' will be completely restructured as required under the Gates settlement.
