A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $50,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS IN SUPPORT OF FIVE NATIONAL
TELECASTS FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI OF THE PHIL
DONAHUE SHOW DURING FEBRUARY, 1986, WITH THE
DISBURSEMENT OF SAID SUM BEING AUTHORIZED ON
A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS IN SUBSTANTIAL
ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE
ATTACHED CITY CONVENTION BUREAU FACT SHEET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $50,000 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts in support of five
national telecasts from the City of Miami of the Phil Donahue Show
during February, 1986.
Section 2. The disbursement of the above monies is hereby
authorized on a reimbursement basis in substantial accordance with
the attached City Convention Bureau fact sheet.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of December , 1985.

From time to time our office forwards resolutions which formalize
motions previously adopted by the City Commission at prior
Commission Meetings. These approved resolutions are
noncontroversial in nature and, unless otherwise indicated by me
or requested by the City Manager, should be placed in the Consent
Agenda segment of your printed City Commission Agenda.
You are informed of the nature of these items by means of our
regular transmittal memorandum/receipts which identify such
resolutions. Further, the number of the motion being formalized
appears in the upper left-hand corner of the resolution title page
together with the date of the Commission Meeting at which the
original motion was adopted.

A contract has been signed between W.P.L.G. (Channel 10) and
Multimedia for the purpose of bringing the Phil Donahue Show
to Miami. Before the signing of the contract, W.P.L.G. was
assured the full support of the City of MiatJ-. In particular,
full restitution for expenses- incurred in producing the show
from Miami.
The City of Miami will be responsible for:
* Lodging and food for. approximately 12
New York staff as well. as air fare for
the same
* Rental fee for the Miarii.e S LL:diLim
* All local production co5LS
The above expenses are not to exceed $1.00,000,00.
On October 23, 1985, the Tourist Dpvclopment Council apprupri-
ated $50,000.00 to support and assist the City of Miami with
funds for the Phil Donahue Shoe-' s tuiecast from Miami.
On October 24, 1985, a motion M-85-1075) wu6 moved br
Commissioner Plummer in regard to the Phil Donahue Show
(copy attached) authorizing and directing the Administration
to allocate the amount of $50,000.00 From the City of Miami
for staging said shows during the month of Pebi-uary 1986.

The expenses incurred for the production part of the show
initially will be W.P.L.G.'s responsibility and monitored
by the City of Miami. At the end of the 5 day telecast,
the production costs will be compiled and presented to the
City oP Miami with proper invoices to be paid.
The City of Miami will make arrangements for the travel,
lodging and food expenses as well as in -kind services.
