RESOLUTION NO. St
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE THREE KINGS
FESTIVAL AND PARADE WHICH IS TO TAKE
PLACE JANUARY 11 AND 12, 1986, CLOSING
CERTAIN STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR
TRAFFIC DURING SPECIFIED HOURS, SAID
STREET CLOSING SUBJECT TO STATE APPROVAL
AND THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AND THE DEPARTMENTS
OF FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES
AND ASSURANCE THAT THE CITY WILL BE
INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL LIABILITY.
WHEREAS, WQBA Radio Station and the City of Miami are
planning the Three Kings Festival and Parade for January 11-12,
1986; and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to through
vehicular traffic during the specified dates and hours to insure
the safety of the participants and pedestrians attending these
activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during
the Three Kings Festival and Parade, the following streets are
hereby closed to through vehicular traffic during the dates and
hours specified below:
Saturday, January 11, 1986 - 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
S.W. 25 Avenue from Flagler Street to S.W. 4 Street;
S.W. 24 Avenue from Flagler Street to Beacom Blvd.;
S.W. 1 Street from 23 Avenue to 27 Avenue;
S.W. 2 Street from Beacom Blvd. to 27 Avenue;
S.W. 2 Terrace from Beacom Blvd. to 24 Avenue;
S.W. 3 Street between Beacom Blvd. and 27 Avenue.
Sunday, January 12, 1986 - 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
S.W. 4 Avenue between 8 Street and 15 Road;
S.W. 5 Avenue between 7 Street and 18 Terrace;
S.W. 15 Road between 11 Street and 4 Avenue;

and Inspection Services. Said permit from the

SUBJECT Resolution Authorizing
Closing of Certain
Streets for the Three

ENCLOSURES.
It is recommended that authorization be
3 granted for the closing of certain
streets to vehicular traffic on January
11, 1986 from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,
and on January 12, 1986 from 11 : 00 a.m.
to 8:00 p.m. during the proposed Three
Kings Festival and Parade, subject to
State approval and the issuance of
{ permits by the Department of Police and
the Department of Fire, Rescue, and
Inspection Services, and assurances that
the City will be insured against any
potential liability, as per the attached
resolution.
In order to provide safe passage during the Three Kings Parade,
which is jointly sponsored by WQBA and the City of Miami, it is
recommended that certain streets be closed to through vehicular
traffic, as per the attached resolution.
The City Commission, by Resolution No. 85-1078 of October 24, 1985,
granted funds to cover the cost of in -kind services for this event.
