BY REDESIGNATING THE LATIN QUARTER REVIEW
BOARD RECORDS CUSTODIAN.
WHEREAS, the Miami Planning Advisory Board at its meeting of
October 2, 1935, Item No. 2, following an advertised hearing, -

adopted Resolution No. PAB 55-85, by a 6 to 0 vote, RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL, of amending Chapter 62 of the City Code, as hereinafter
set forth; and
WHEREAS, the Citv Commission, after consideration of this
matter, deems it advisable and in the best interest of the
general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant
these amendments, as hereinafter set forth!
- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Chapter 62 entitled "Zoning and Planning," of
the Code of the City of Miami, as amended, is hereby further
amended in the following particulars:1
"Chapter 62
- ZONING AND PLANNING
ARTICLE VT.II - LATIN QUARTER REVIEW BOARD
Section 62-78. Membership.

remaining provisions are now in effect and remain uncha nged.

f) Removal. Members of the Latin Quarter Review
Board may be removed for cause by vote of not lass
than three (3) members of the City Commission;
however, whenever a member has had within a

absences from regularly scheduled meetings, the
chairman shall certify same to the City
Commission. Upon such certification, the member
shall be deemed to have been removed and the City
Commission shall fill the vacancy pursuant to part

Advisory Board that an amendment to
Chapter 62 of the C i ty o e o the
City of Miami, Florida, by amending
Article VIII Latin Quarter Review
Board; Section 62-7 8 Membership;
Section 62-79 Functions, Powers and
Duties, Generally; and Section 62-80
Proceedings be approved.
The Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of October 2, 1985, Item 2,
following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution PAB 55-85 by a 6 to 0
vote, recommending approval of amending Chapter 62 of the City Code of the
City of Miami, Florida, by amending Article VIII Latin Quarter Review Board,
Section 62-78 Membership by changing the number of allowable absences per year
from three (3) unexcused absences to four (4) absences; Section 62-79
Functions, Powers and Duties, Generally by amending applications for building
permits for less than $10,000 are excluded from Latin Quarter Review Board
review, unless referred by the Planning Director; and Section 62-80
Proceedings by defining the location of the records of the Latin Quarter
Review Board.

PETITION 2. Consideration of recommending an ordinance
amending Chapter 62 of the City Code of the City
of Miami, Florida, by amending Article VIII
Latin Quarter Review Board; Section 62-78
Membership; Section 62-79 Functions, Powers and
Duties, Generally; and Section 62-80
Proceedings.
REQUEST To amend the City Code in order to reflect
recent changes to the Latin Quarter Zoning
Ordinance and to improve the Latin Quarter
Review Board efficiency.
BACKGROUND The Latin Quarter Review Board is essential to
the implementation of the Latin Quarter Zoning
Ordinance by advising the Planning Director on
development in the Latin Quarter.
ANALYSIS There is a need to have agreement between the
recently amended Latin Quarter zoning ordinance
and Chapter 62 of the City Code. Amendments are
also needed to improve the efficiency of the
board.
Proposed amendments consist of:
1. Applications for building permits for less
than $10,000 are excluded from Latin Quaff
eview Board rev ew, un ess referred by the
Planning Director.
2. The number of absences allowed for Board
members in a calendar year is a ine
o erwise they are subject to removal.
3. The location of the records of the Latin
Quarter ev ew oa�rd-is�-efined.
4. Minor clarifying changes are also proposed.
