SG-1.4 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE CITY CLERK'S SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF WALTER FOEMAN TO SERVE AS ASSISTANT CITY CLERK AT AN ANNUAL SALARY OF $ 47,500 WHEREAS, in 1976 the City Commission authorized the City Clerk to select and appoint an Assistant City Clerk to serve in that position and also approved the amount of compensation to be paid said Assistant City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the individual so appointed in 1976 has now been elevated to the position of City Clerk; and WHEREAS, the recently appointed City Clerk has selected and appointed Walter Foeman from among several qualified persons to Ar serve as the Assistant City Clerk; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The selection and appointment by the City Clerk of Walter Foeman to serve as the Assistant City Clerk at an annual salary of $ 47,500 is hereby approved and confirmed. On September 1, 1985, upon the official retirement of the prior City Clerk, the then Assistant City Clerk was appointed to the position and the Assistant's position became vacant. After properly advertising the position and having completed the interviewing process, I hereby respectfully submit to you the name of Walter Foeman as that of the selected individual for the position of Assistant City ClerK. Mr. Foeman brings with him a most comprehensive background in note taking, operations analysis and research -related activities which this office urgently needs. He previously served this City as Senior Management Analyst in both Operations Analysis, in the Budget Management Division of the Department of Management and Budget, and more recently, has served in the capacity of Publicity Writer, in the Office of Public Information, as Editor of the employee -oriented newsletter entitled Cityscape. I take pride in submitting his name for the position of Assistant City Clerk and most respectfully request your adoption of the attached Resolution which will confirm Mr. Foeman's appointment and establish his salary.
