PARKER, INC. FOR THE DEMOLITION OF ONE (1)
COMMERCIAL WAREHOUSE LOCATED AT 65 N.W. 9TH
STRH,ET IN THE OVERTOWN/I'ARKWEST DEVELOPMENT
AREA TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND
INSPECTION SERVICES AT A TOTAL PROPOSED
COST OF $2 5, 000.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS
THEREFOR FROM THE OVERTOVvN/PARKWEST LANs
ACQUISITION PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF
PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCIVkL3L
ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to pul)l.ic notice, sealed bids were
received December 9, 1985 for the demolition of one (1)
Cummercial 'warehouse located at 65 N.W. 9til Street in the
Over town/Pa rkwest Development area to the Department of 'Fire,
Rescue and Inspection Services; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 29 potential
suppliers and 4 bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
Overtown/Parkwest Land Acquisition Program; and
WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of
Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services for the purpose of the
demolition of one (1) Commercial Warehouse; and

WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services recommend that
a

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAIgI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The December 9, 1985 bid A. J. Parker, Inc.
for the demolition of one (1) Commercial Warehouse located at 65
IJ.W. 9th Street in the Overtown/Parkwest Development area to the
Department of Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services at a total
cost of $25,000.00 is hereby accepted with funds

Sealed bids will he received by the City Manager and City Clerk
of the City of Miami, Florida nod later than 2 : 00 p.m. December
9, 1985 for furnishing all Labor and Materials for the Demolition
of two-story CBS Commercial Warehouse to the Department of Fire,
Rescue and Inspection Services.
Ordinance No. 9775 established a goal of Awarding 50% of the
City's total dollar volume of all expenditures for All Goods and
Services to slack and }iispanic Minority Business Enterprises on
an equal basis.

It is recommended that an Award
be made and a Resolution be

responsive and responsible bid
as received from A. J. Parker,
Inc., a demolition contractor,
for the demol tion and clearing
away _fo debris from the property
located at 65 N.W. 9 Street,
which is already owned by the
City, at a total cost of
$25,000. These 7unds are to be
rovide from the 1976 Gen_ 1
Obl gation Housing Bonds.
