INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
January 13, 1986 ,-
City's Advertisement
of Public Notices
(1)
We received confirming information on January 9, 1986 that three
of the six newspapers selected by the City Commission on December
19, 1985 (Resolution No. 85-1182) for placement of advertised
public notices are nondaily newspapers; "nondaily" being
interpreted as less than 5 days per week. In addition, the
Purchasing Division of the newly -created Department of General
Services Administration has notified us that it has been unable
to locate, by address or telephone, one of the selected nondaily
newspapers, LA VERDAD.
Since Resolution No. 84-44 provides that a unanimous vote is
required for selection of nondaily newspapers, your Office and
the Purchasing Division are hereby advised that public notices
should only be placed in THE MIAMI HERALD, DIARIO LAS AMERICAS,
or THE MIAMI REVIEW until or unless the City Commission either
(1) by a majority vote amends Resolution No. 84-44 or (2)
unanimously selects any of the following: THE MIAMI TIMES, LA
NACION, and LA VERDAD.
