ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE "CITY OF MIAMI
YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL", PROVIDING FOR
THE COMPOSITION OF THE COUNCIL AND THE
QUALIFICATIONS AND TERMS OF MEMBERS;
PROVIDING FOR THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF
SAID COUNCIL; PROVIDING A METHOD OF
SELECTION OF OFFICERS; FURTHER PROVIDING
FOR MEETINGS, QUORUMS AND VOTES;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the youths of the City of Miami and an important
asset to the community; and
WHEREAS, the youths of the City represent.,* large egment of
the total population of the City; an�
WHEREAS, the City Commission cog? zes the problems of

youths within the City and the import ce of finding solutions to
those problems; and
WHEREAS, the City ommiss dopted Resolution No. 73-801
on September 28, 14 w" oh e d the Youth Advisory Board, but
said Board has been n tiv or many years;

There is hereby created a "City of Miami Youth
Advisory

(a) The Council shall be composed of ten (10)
e ers between the -ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24)
y ar , and one adult advisor who shall be at least twenty-one
1) ears of age, all of whom shall reside in the City of Miami
and rve without compensation. Each City Commissioner shall
nominate two (2) members to the Youth Advisory Council. The
adult advisor position shall be filled in the following
