EVENT, UPON THE ISSUA14CE; OF A TEMPORARY
PERMITS BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF 13USINE:SS
REGULATION, D.LVISiON OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
AND TOBACCO, IF REQUIRED; SAID AUTHORIZATIONS
AND APPROVALS BEING L")UBJE;CT TO AND CONT.LNGENT
UPON COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH CONDITIONS AND

WHEREAS, the south Florid, Chapter of the Harch of Limes, a
non-profit corporation, has requested permission to hold its
annual Walkiunerica on March 22, 1986; and
WHEREAG, certain streets should be closed to through
vehicular Lraffic on March 22, i986 during specified hours to

insure the safety of the participants, organizers and spectators
attending this activity; and
WHEREAS, due to the number of participants and attendees, it
is likewise necessary to have Police Department personnel work
the event to conduct traffic and to control crowds; and
WHEREAS, this organization has also requested the use of
Peacock Park at no char e and authorization t >
g o on o dispense beer and

;r wine to participants and organizers for private consumption on
that park property for a one: -day period on March 22, i986 during
the event; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April. 5, L984, authorized tha
City Commission to permit dispensing of beer or wine in soft
containers in any City I -lark upon such conditions and limitations
as the City Commission should prescribe; and

Section i. it, order to provide sail passage to
participants, organlzars and spectators During the March of Dimes
"Walk,�mcrica" the following streets are hereby closed to through
vehicular traffic on March 22, 1986 from /:00 AM to 10:00 AM and
from it : �0 All to 2:UU PI.1:
(a) McFarlane Road from idain Highway -Lo South Bayshore
Drive;
(b) South Bayshore Drive from McFarlane Road to Mary
Street;
(c) All streets and avenues intersecting the area listed in
above.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to the
issuance of permit-s by the Department of Police and Fire, Rescue
and Inspection oervices. said permit from the Department of
Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of
Police after giving all due considerations co the safety and
traffic needs of residents, businesses, arid religion institutions
in ttie area for entering arid crossing through said arterials and
upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgment
predicated upon ail fac-cors set forth herein.
Section 3. The scheduling of Police Department personnel to
provide traffic and crowd contzol, and security for this event is
hereby approved.
Section 4. The sponsor's request for the use of Peacock
Park during said event without charge for the park permit fee is
hereby granted.,
Section 5. Upon tliL; issuance of a temporary permit by the
Florida State Department of business Regulation, Division of
Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, if required, and pursuant to the
City Code, the request of the March of Dimes to dispense beer and
wine for a one (1) clay period in connection with the
"Walkhmerica" scheduled for March 22, 1986 is hereby granted in
compliance with ordinance No. 9816, further subject to the
issuance of all permits required by law.
Section 6. The aforementioned authorizations and approvals
are subject to and conditioned upon the South Florida Chapter of
March of Dimes obtaining insurance -,overage as required by the

City of Miami, Finance Department, Risk Management Division, and
upon compliance with any other applicable administrative directives
and/or requirements.
