Home My WebLink AboutR-86-0173J-86-234 2/27/86 RESOLUTION NO.8k''M c'2' A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT, WITH DUPONT PLAZA CENTER, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR LEASE OF OFFICE SPACE AT AN ANNUAL AGGREGATE RENTAL OF $96,740, SUBJECT TO ANNUAL CPI ADJUSTMENTS AND OPERATING EXPENSES FOR AN ORIGINAL TERM OF THREE (3) YEARS, WITH A RENEWAL OPTION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT AND ALLOCATING MONIES THEREFOR FROM PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED FUNDS; SAID HEREIN AUTHORIZATION BEING SUBJECT TO THE CONDITION PRECEDENT THAT SAID DEPARTMENT BE SUCCESSFUL IN OBTAINING A RELEASE FROM ITS EXISTING LEASE AGREEMENTS FOR SPACE CURRENTLY IN USE BY SAID DEPARTMENT OR IN FINDING A SUBTENANT TO ASSUME THE OBLIGATIONS OF SAID DEPARTMENT'S EXISTING LEASE AGREEMENTS. WHEREAS, on January 23, 1986 the Commission adopted Ordinance No. 10070 establishing a new Department to be known as the Department of Development; and WHEREAS, it is most cost effective to consolidate all the current office space requirements of the Department of Development, and the herein proposed space is competitively priced in the available local market and is the most advantageous to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA; Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a Lease Agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with Dupont Plaza Center for the lease of office space at the Dupont Plaza Office Building at an annual aggregate rental of $96,740, subject to annual CPI adjustments and operating expenses for an original term of three (3) years with a renewal option for the Department of Development to be negotiated upon the expiration of the original term; provided, however, that the herein authorization is subject to the condition precedent that said Department be successful in obtaining a release from its existing Lease Agreements for space CITT COMMISSIOPi KEETING OF FEB 27 t9W currently in use by said Department or in finding a subtenant to assume the obligations of said Department's existing Lease Agreements. Section 2. Monies to cover the cost of said Lease Agreement are hereby allocated from previously appropriated funds. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of FEBRUARY 1986.
