Dear Cesar:
As stipulated by Florida State Law and Section 18-2 of the Dade CauntY
Code, special assessment districts or project areas which incorporate
all or part of a municipality may only be established by a county
subsequent to municipal authorization; therefore, I have enclosed a
proposed resolution through which the City of Miami. Commission may
authorize the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County (BCC) to
establish a Special Assessment Project Area for the Metromover Stage I -
Omni and Brickell Extensions.
The ordinance creating the Special Assessment Project Area is scheduled
for consideration by the BCC at its March 18, 1986 meeting. Since
Wmicipal.autborization is needed prior to final action by the BCC, it
is essential that the enclosed resolution be placed on the March 13,
1986 City Commission Agenda.
I look forward to working with the City to ensure that the Metr=ver
Extensions become a reality. If there are any problems or questions
the resolution, please contact my office.
