A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING A SUM NOT TO EXCEED
$4,500 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS,
CONTINGENT FUND, TO COVER THE RENTAL COST OF
USING ORANGE BOWL STADIUM IN CONNECTION WITH
THE PROCESSING OF DOCUMENTS AND FINAL
SWEARING -IN CEREMONY FOR APPROXIMATELY
12,000 ON JULY 3, 1986; SAID ALLOCATION
BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL
COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE
POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice,
Immigration and Naturalization Service, requested the use of the
Orange Bowl Stadium for a special naturalization ceremony for
approximately 12,000 people to be held July 3, 1986; and
WHEREAS, Motion 85-1168 of November 26, 1985 was made,
seconded and adopted to grant said request; and
WHEREAS, the City's assistance will be used to pay for the
rental fee of the Orange Bowl Stadium on said date; and
WHEREAS, the Immigration and Naturalization Service will pay -
all event expenses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY -
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. An amount not Ito exceed $4,500 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to
cover the rental cost of using the Orange Bowl Stadium on July 3,
1986 in connection with processing of documents and final

swearing -in ceremony for naturalization of approximately 12,000
people.
Section 2. Said allocation is conditioned upon
substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy
No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.

The adoption of the attached
resolution allocating $4,500 from

recommended.
By Motion 85-1168 of the November 26, 1985 Commission
meeting, the Immigration and Naturalization Service
(I.N.S.) was granted the use of the Orange Bowl
Stadium for their naturalization ceremony for
approximately 12,000 persons to be held on July 3,
1986. The attached resolution allocates $4,500 from
Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, to =
cover the rental cost of using the Orange Bowl Stadium

for this ceremony. The I.N.S. will pay

x A similar event was held at the Orange Bowl on
September 17, 1984 for approximately 10,000 people and -
it was well a memorable ceremony for the new citizens
and their families who attended this event.
