A RESOLUTION CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS TO
THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON MARCH 28 AND
29 AND ON APRIL 4 AND 5, 1986 FOR A BLOCK
PARTY; SAID STREET CLOSING SUBJECT TO
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF
POLICE AND THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE
AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND ASSURANCES
THAT THE CITY WILL BE INSURED AGAINST ANY
POTENTIAL LIABILITY; SAID ALLOCATION
CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS PAYING
FOR ALL COSTS OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED
WITH SAID EVENT.
WHEREAS, the merchants on N.W. 15 Avenue have requested
permission to hold a block party to provide recreation for the
youngsters during Spring break; and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to through
vehicular traffic during specified dates and hours to insure the
safety of the participants and pedestrians attending these
activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the
block party to be sponsored by the merchants in the area, the
following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic
from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on March 28 and 29 and on April 4
and 5, 1986.
N.W. 15 Avenue between N.W. 62 and N.W. 67 Streets
N.W. 62 Terrace between N.W. 14 and N.W. 17 Avenues
N.W. 63 Street between N.W. 14 and N.W. 17 Avenues
N.W. 64 Street between N.W. 14 and N.W. 17 Avenues
N.W. 65 Street between N.W. 14 and N.W. 17 Avenues
N.W. 66 Street between N.W. 14 and N.W. 17 Avenues
All streets and avenues intersecting the area listed above.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to the
issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue
and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of
Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of
Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and
traffic needs of residents, businesses, and religious

institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said
arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's
judgment predicated upon all factors set forth herein.
Section 3. Such closing of streets is subject to the
organizers of the block party obtaining insurance requirements as
mandated by the City of Miami, Department of Finance, Risk
Management Division.
Section 4. Said allocation is hereby conditioned upon the
organizers paying all costs of City services associated with the
event.

BLOCK DANCE ON N.W. 15th AVENUE
REFERENCES:
ENCLOSURES:
The merchants on N.W. 15th avenue want to have a Block Party /Dance
on N.W. 15th avenue. The merchants want to provide some constructive
recreation for the youngsters during the Dade County School's Spring
Break. The dates requested are as follows:
March 28 and 29 4: 00 p.m. to 9: 00 p. m.
April 4 and 5 4: 00 p.m. to 9: 00 p. m.
Another request is that the side streets be closed leading into and
across N.W. 15th avenue. These are N.W. 63rd to 67th street,
N.W. 15th avenue south to N.W. 62nd street and north to N.W. 67th
street.
Disco music providers must have a clearance from Mr. Raymond Kemp,
6330 N.W. 15th avenue and a permit from the Miami Police Department
to participate.
1 will include this on the agenda for the approval of the affair and
give them directions as to where to get Fire, Police and Sanitation
Permits.
