ORDINANCE NO. 10084
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "HISTORIC
PRESERVATION: DOWNTOWN", AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF
SAME IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000, CONSISTING
OF A $15,000 GRANT FROM THE STATE OF
FLORIDA: DEPARTMENT OF STATE; AND $15,000
FROM FISCAL YEAP, 1985/86 GENERAL FUND:
PLANNING DEPARTMENT; CONTAINING A
REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior:
National Park Service administers the historic preservation
program authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of
1966, as amended; and
WHEREAS, an Historic Preservation Trust Fund has been
established by the State of Florida under authority of Section
267.0617, Florida Statues, which includes a part of the Federal
funds apportioned annually to the State by the United States
Department of the Interior and other funds appropriated by the
State legislature for historic preservation activities; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida: Department of State; Division
of Archives, History and Records Management has offered the City
of Miami a $15,000 grant-in-aid to conduct historic preservation
surveys and planning in the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, activities to
he accomplished under this grant
program include preparation
of nominations to
the
National
Register of Historic Places
of historic buildings
and
districts
in the downtown area, and
the development of
the
historic
preservation element of the City's Downtown Master
Plan;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department will use existing staff to
meet the fifty percent local match requirement of the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following Special Revenue Fund is hereby
established and resources are hereby appropriated as described
herei n:
FUND TITLE: HISTORIC PRESERVATION: DOWNTOWN
RESOURCES: State of Florida - Historic preservation
Trust Fund $ 15,000
Contribution from FY'86 General Fund:
Planning Department S 1.5,000
APPROPRIATION: HISTORIC PRESERVATION: DOWNTOWN $ 30,000
Section 2. This appropriation is contingent upon the City
Manager's acceptance of the subject grant. Further, there shall be no expendi—
ture of monies from this Fund unless the same be expressly approved by the City
Commission.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept
the grant as set forth in the preamble to this ordinance and to enter
into the necessary contract and/or agreement for the acceptance of the
"Historic Preservation: Downtown" grant.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar
as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 5. If any section, part of section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
