HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-0290J-86-275 RESOLUTION NO. 8G-290 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OFFERS TO 13E MADE TO LAND OWNERS FOR'THE CITY'S ACQUISITION OF REAL ESTATE WITHIN THE SOUTH DISTRICT POLICE SUBSTATION SITE, COMPRISED OF 13 LOTS, AND THE IMPROVEMENTS OF SAID LOTS, (SAID PROPERTY LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS LOTS 4 THROUGH 16, ALL IN RENILWORTH REVISED SUBDIVISION, DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 5 AT PAGE 115 OF DADE COUNTY PUBLIC RECORDS; BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY WEST FLAGLER STREET; WEST BY SW 23 AVENUE; SOUTH BY SW 1 STREET; EAST BY BEACOM BOULEVARD, A/K/A SW 22 AVENUE ROAD); AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO ACQUIRE FEE SIMPLE TITLE TO SAID PROPERTY BY CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 98Q3 which provided for the construction and establishment of a full service police substation in the Little Havana Area; and WHEREAS, the approved site of the South District Police Substation includes 13 lots, the fee simple title to all of which is required for this valid public and municipal use; and ;S WHEREAS, the 13 lots which are legally described as lots 4 i; through 16,. all in Kenilworth Revised Subdivision, Dade County, �i Florida, as recorded in Plat Book 5 at Page 115 of Dade County i Public Records, and comprise six (6) different parcels and are f owned by six (6) separate property owners; and i WHEREAS, the herein property is bounded on the North by West Flagler Street; West by SW 23 Avenue; South by SW 1 Street; East by Beacom Boulevard, a/k/a Sid 22 Avenue Road; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has established a policy for negotiated purchases to provide a bonus to property owners and ; further relocate businesses displaced b the p y public acquisition { of real estate -within the South District Police Substation site; and WHEREAS, funding for the City's acquisition of this site is to be provided from 1984 Miami Police Headquarters and Crime ; i Prevention Facilities Bonds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVSD BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Sharpe, $ 205000 et al 2 Alfred Lev $ 227,500 3 Alberto Daire and $ 117,500 Juan E. Daire 4 Maria T. Morales $ 377,750 5 Dorothy Simon $ 617,500 6 Rafael E. Alvarez and $ 128,750 Diamanda Alvarez for a total amount of $1,674,000. The 13 lots are legally described as lqts 4 through 16, all in Kenilworth Revised Subdivision, Dade County, Flprida, as recorded in Plat Book 5 at Page 115 of Dade County Public Records. Section 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to take all necessary steps to acquire the fee simple title to all or any of the herein parcels by condemnation proceedings. Section 3. All recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are hereby incorporated by reference thereto and are hereby adopted as if fully set forth in this Section. Odio RIVERENCES:Condemnat ion City Manager ENCLOSURES: A resolution approving offers for the public acquisition of real estate property within the South District Police Substation site,, comprised of 13 lots, and the improvements thereon, (said property legally described as Lots 4 through 16, all in Kenilworth. Revised 4. Subdivision, as recorded in Plat Book 5 at page 115; bounded on the north by West Flagler Street; west by SW 23 Avenue; south by SW I Street; east by Beacom Boulevard, a/k/a SW 22 Avenue Road); and authorizing the City Attorney to acquire said property by condemnation proceedings. The site for the South District Police Substation was designated by Motion 85-684 and 85-846# in accordance with the provision of Ordinance No. 9803, to establish a full service police substation in the Little Havana area.
