Selection of Bond Counsel
It is recommended that the attached
Resolution retaining a law firm to serve
as primary bond counsel with respect to
the 1986 sale of General Obligation Bonds
of the City of Miami, be approved.
During its April 10, 1986 meeting the City Commission instructed
this office to solicit requests for proposals from Miami law
firms listed in the Bond Buyer Directory of Municipal Bond
Dealers of the United States, commonly referred to as the "Red
Book".
The request for proposal, copy attached hereto, was addressed to
the following firms:

The Director of Finance has requested that bond counsel be
designated for the City's 1986 general obligation bond sale
tentatively scheduled for June. It is necessary at this time to
designate a firm from those responding to the request for
proposals.
