A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF
SOUTHEAST ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THIRTY T1 iO ( 3 2 )
MONITORING WELLS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SLRVICES AD4INISTRATION AT A
TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $10,976.00;
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM TttE 1985-
86 HEAVY EQUIPMENT FACILITY OPERATING
BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE ASSISTANT CHIEF PROCUREMENT
OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR
THIS SERVICE -
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed rids were
received April 7, 1986 for the installation of thirty two (32)
Monitoring Wells to the Department of General Services
Administration; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty one (21)
potential suppliers and five (5) bias were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1985-86 Heavy Equipmo nt Facility Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of
General Services Ad ministration for the purpose of Complying wit}i
Metropolitan Dade County Ordinance No. 83-108; and _
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of General Services Administration recommend that the
bid received from Southeast Environmental Consultants, Inc. be
accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 7, 1986 bid of Southeast
Environmental Consultants Inc. for the installation of thirty two
(32) Monitoring Wells to the Department of General Services
Administration at a total proposed cost of $10,976.00 is hereby
accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1985-86
Heavy Equipment Facility Operating Budget.

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instructed the Assistant Chief Procurement officer to issue a
Purchase Order for this equipment.

Five (5) bids were received on April 7, 1986 for Bid NO. 85-86-
67, .for the installation of monitoring wells. Two (2) low bids
were received at a cost of $350.00 each. One of the two low
bidders was a firm from Fort Myers which required sixty (60) days
to start work which was not acceptable. The other low bidder,
Southeast Environmental Consultants, Inc., will be able to start
work one (1) day after receipt of the purchase order and offers a
2% discount. It is recommended that Southeast Environmental
Consultants, Inc. be awarded the bid.
A total sum of $10,976.00 provides for the drilling of thirty two
(32) monitoring wells at a cost of $343.00 each. Funds for these
wells are available in the 1985-86 Heavy Equipment Facility
Operating Budget. This item is exempt from the purchasing
freeze.
