RESOLUTION NO. 86-393:_.
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A CERTAIN INDIVIDUAL
TO THE CITY OF MIAMI LATIN QUARTER REVIEW
BOARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Latin Quarter Review Board was established by
Ordinance No. 9925, dated October 10, 1984, to review plans and/or related
documents, and to recommend approval or disapproval to the Planning Director
for projects requiring a Class "C" special permit within the boundaries of the
Latin Quarter District in accordance with the Latin Quarter Design Guidelines
and Standards, other applicable guidelines and standards, and the intent of
the Latin Quarter Special Public Interest (SPI-14, 14.1, 14.2) Zoning
District; and
WHEREAS, it is intended that members of the Latin Quarter Review Board
shall be persons of knowledge, experience, mature judgment and background,
having ability and desire to act in the public interest and representing the
various special professional training, experience, and interests required to
make informed and equitable decisions concerning enhancement, conversation,
and protection of the physical environment; and
WHEREAS, the Latin Quarter Review Board shall consist of nine (9) members,
and one (1) alternate to consist of at least three (3) architects, two (2)
engineers, landscape architects or architects, and at least four (4)
residents, businessmen or civic activists, and one (1) alternate member with
qualification similar to the other members.
WHEREAS, Section 62-78 of the City Code provides for the appointment or
reappointment of Board Members, and the regular terms of office for five (5)
Board members expire on February 27, 1986.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. R-86-224, adopted March 18, 1986, the City
Commission filled three (3) of the five (5) vacancies; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. R-86-364, adopted May 7, 1986, the City
Commission filled another vacancy on said Board, leaving one vacancy to be
filled;
