HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-0435J-86-489 6/3/86 RESOLUTION NO. 86-435, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY ATTORNEY'S SELECTION AND AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE LAW FIRM OF GREENBERG, TRAURIG, ASKEW, HOFFMAN, LIPOFF, ROSEN & QUENTAL, P.A. TO SERVE AS PRIMARY BOND COUNSEL FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $22,000,000 CITY GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, SERIES 1986, SAID LAW FIRM TO RECEIVE PAYMENT FOR SERVICES AT THE HOURLY RATE AS SET FORTH IN ITS MAY 1, 1988 CORRESPONDENCE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO A MAXIMUM PAYMENT OF $1.00 PER $1,000 OF BONDS ISSUED ($22,000) WITH THE MONIES THEREFOR TO BE PAID FROM THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE OF SAID BONDS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to employ the law firm of Greenberg, Traurig, Askew, Hoffman, Lipoff, Rosen & Quentel, P.A., which she has selected to serve as primary bond counsel for the issuance of $22,000,000 City General Obligation Bonds, Series 1986, said law firm to receive payment for services at the hourly rate as set forth in its May 1, 1096 correspondence to the City Attorney, subject to a maximum payment of $1.00 per $1,000 of bonds issued ($22,000) with the monies therefor to be paid from the proceeds of the sale of said bonds. ENCLOSURES C1 Because of the multiple sources of issues which comprise the proposed $22,000,000 total general obligation bond sale, this office has recognized that a fair and reasonable fee for the designated bond counsel in this instance is $1.00 per thousand ($22,000). Accordingly, we recommend that the attached resolution retaining Greenberg, Trauig, Askew, Hoffman, Lipoff, Rosen V Quental, P.A. as bond counsel for this bond sale be placed on the June 12, 1988 Agenda.
