AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, CHAPTER 54.5 ENTITLED "SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS," BY AMENDING SEC- TION 54.5-1, ENTITLED "DEFINITIONS," TO INCLUDE THE BUILDING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT AS A MEMBER OF THE CITY'S PLAT AND STREET COMMITTEE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission by Ordinance No. 10089 on March 27, 1986, reestablished the Department of Building and Zoning Inspection and changed its name to the Department of Building and Zoning; and Whereas, expertise provided by the Department of Building and Zoning is essential if the intent of the City's subdivision regulations set forth in City Code Chapter 54.5 is to be achieved; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, after careful consideration of this matter, deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant this Amendment, as hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Code of the City of Miami is hereby amended in the following particulars:I 1 "Chapter 54.5 SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS Sec. 54.5-1. Definitions. All ordinances, code sections, or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar as they are in conflict. Section 3. Should any part or provision of this Ordinance be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole.
