RECOMMENDATIONS
PLAT AND STREET
COMMITTEE
At its meeting of May 7, 1986, the Plat and
Street Committee approved the above tentative
Plat subject to the following:
1. Provide 25' radius at corner NW 7 Street and
Miami Avenue.
2. Copy of deed from F.E.C. showing.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
APPROVAL. Northwest 7th Street is not needed
or pub7ic access and circulation; the Police
and Fire Departments have indicated that the
street closing will not adversely affect those
public safety functions. The closing and
vacation of NW 7th Street will create a parcel
of optimal size, sufficient to accommr.ate an
arena for major sports and concert events. The
vacated street will not reduce access to the
proposed facility, since it will be heavily
dependent upon the Metrorail and Metromover
systems. Also, since there is a sufficient
number of public and private parking lots and
garages within a short walking distance of the
proposed arena, there will be a reduced need for
private vehicles to directly access the arena
site.
