WHEREAS, the Plat and Street Committee, at its meeting of October 9, 1985, approved Tentative Plat No. 1266 - "MORNINGSIDE ELEMENTARY SITE" subject to the following: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. WHEREAS, the Zoning Board, at its meeting of April 21, 1986, Item No. 5, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. ZB 38-86, by a 9 to 0 vote, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL, in accord with the conditions established by the Plat and Street Committee, of the official vacation and closure of the streets and right-of- way, as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, after careful consideration of this matter, deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of the streets and right-of-way in question; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Cather Director of Public Works ENCLOSURES At the May 22, 1986 City Commission meeting, the Commission requested the Department of Public Works to hold an evening meeting with the affected property owners on the proposed closure of N.E. 66 Street between N.E. 4 Court and N.E. 5 Avenue. The Dade County School Board is proposing to close this street in order to construct an addition to the existing Morningside Elementary School. The property owners within 375 feet of the proposed street closure were invited by letter to attend a 7:00 P.M. meeting at Morningside Elementary School on June 12, 1986. City of Miami Department of Public Works staff, Dade County School Board staff and their architect for the school expansion were present at the meeting. The proposed improvements include the construction of an addition to the existing school building that will be in the present right of way of N.E. 66 Street between N.E. 4 Court and N.E. 5 Avenue. The School Board is in the process of replatting the Morningside Elementary School site and has requested approval from the City of Miami Commission to permanently close N.E. 66 Street between N.E. 4 Court and N.E. 5 Avenue.
