IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $116,400.00, BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR DREDGING - SLIP 3, OLD PORT OF MIAMI; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM "MIAMARINA - MIAMARINA/WATSON ISLAND MAJOR MAINTENANCE" ACCOUNT AND PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $116,400.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received June 25, 1986, for Dredging - Slip 3, Old Port of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid received from Marks Bros. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Appropriation Ordinance No. 9939, as amended, was adopted on December 20, 1984, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Miamarina - Miamarina/Watson Island Major Maintenance", as set forth under Section 3.Marinas.B.1 of said ordinance and from the Parks and Recreation Department General Operating Budget; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The June 25, 1986, bid of Marks Bros. in the proposed amount of $116,400.00, for the project entitled Dredging - Slip 3, Old Port of Miami, for the base bid of the proposal, based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. The amount of $116,400.00 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Miamarina - Miamarina/Watson Island Major Maintenance" and Parks & Recreation Department General Operating Budget to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Marks Bros. for Dredging - Slip 3, Old Port of Miami, base bid of the proposal.
