FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM 17 TO: DATE: JUL1 1986 FILE: Honorable Mayor and Members 1 B-2858 of the City Commission SUBJECT: CURTIS PARK SPORTSFIELD LIGHTING Resolution for Increasing Cesar H. Odio FROM: REFERENCES: Contract Amount and City Manager Reduction of Retainage ENCLOSURES: (For Commission Meeting of July 10, 1 986 ) It is recommended that a resolution be adopted authorizing an increase in the contract between the City of Miami and Frank J. Moran, Inc., for the construction of Curtis Park Sportsfield Lighting in an amount not to exceed $9990.00, said funds to be provided from the "Park Improvement Fund" account; further authorizing the City Manager to reduce the retainage on the aforementioned project from 10% to 1 /2 of 1 %. Frank J. Moran, Inc. has essentially completed the Curtis Park Sportsfield Lighting project, but it has been determined that additional work, originally anticipated to be done by City Forces, must be done by the contractor in order to connect the new lighting system to the existing football field lighting. Additionally, a new controller system for all of the lights in the park has been proposed by the contractor. The controller is considered a desirable addition to the project. The cost of the additional work will require an increase in contract in an amount not to exceed $9,990. Funds for the increase are available from the account entitled "Park Improvement Fund". The contractor on the project has essentially completed all the work and is at this time waiting for approval of an increase in contract to proceed with the extra work. He has requested, since he has completed all the work covered by the original contract, that his retainage be reduced from 10% to 1/2 of 1%. 86--547-,, Ronorable Mayor ind Members of the City Commission The Directo, of the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Directo o the Department of Public Works recommend both the itrese in contract amount and the reduction of retainage• Q9 DW L *. v ! , Resolutitached Ac 86-5474'.r
