FOR FURNISHING CUSTODIAL AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE COMPUTERS DEPARTMENT ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1) YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $8,892.72; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1985-86 OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received February 24, 1986 for furnishing custodial and grounds maintenance services on a contract basis for the Computers Department to the Department of General Services Administration; a nd WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 67 potential suppliers and 9 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1985-86 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of providing custodial and grounds maintenance services to the Computers Department; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Vista Building Maintenance Services, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The February 24, 1986 bid of Vista Building Maintenance Services Inc. for furnishing custodial and grounds maintenance services for the Computers Department on a contract basis for one (1) year renewable annually to the Department of General Services Administration at a total proposed first year cost of $8,892.72 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1985-86 Operating Budget of that Department. Odio City Manager SUBJECT: Award of Bids for Custodial services, Computer Department For City Commission REFERENCES: Meeting of July 10, 1986 ENCLOSURES: IT IS RE:COMIIENDED THAT A CONTRACT FOR CUSTODIAL AND GROUNDS MAINTENANCE FOR THE PREMISES OF THE COiKPUTER DEPARTMENT LOCATED AT 2850 TIGERTAIL AVENUE BE AWARDED TO VISTA BUILDING MAINTENANCE SERVICES, INC., AN HISPANIC MI14ORITY VENDOR, AS THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE BIDDER IN ACCORD WITH BID NO. 85-86-56. TOTAL COST OF THESE SERVICES WILL BE $6,892.72, FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE OPERATING BUDGET. Pursuant to Bid #85-86-56, bids were received to provide custodial services and grounds maintenance to the Computer Department at 2850 Tigertail Avenue. General Services Administration Department has reviewed the bids received. The lowest acceptable bid submitted for custodial and grounds maintenance services for the Computer Department location was from Vista Building Maintenance Services, Inc., an Hispanic minority vendor, at $741.06 per month for a total award of $8,892.72 annual cost. Funds for this service are available in the Custodial iaintenance operating budget and it is exempt from the purchasing freeze.
