IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $63,500.009 BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR SLIP 3 - MOORING PILE; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM "MIAMARINA MIAMARINA/WATSON ISLAND MAJOR MAINTENANCE" ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,500.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM. WHEREAS, sealed bids were received July 22, 1986, for Slip 3 - Mooring Pile; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid received from Ebsary Foundation Co. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Appropriation Ordinance No. 9939, as amended, was adopted on December 20, 1984, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Miamarina Miamarina/Watson Island Major, Maintenance", as set forth under Section 3.Marinas.B.1, of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The July 22, 1986, bid of Ebsary Foundation Co. in the proposed amount of $63,500.009 for the project entitled slip 3 - Mooring Pile, base bid of the proposal, based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. The amount of $63,500.00 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Miamarina Miamarina/Watson Island Major Maintenance" to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with Ebsary Foundation Co. for S1 ip 3 - Mooring Pile, base bid of the proposal. The City of Miami is committed to a certain schedule for the reconstruction of Slip 3 at Bicentennial Park to accomodate large ocean going vessels. In order to avoid any del ays in the start of said construction, the reduction in bidding time from the required 15 days to 10 days became necessary. Bids were received July 22, 1986, for the SLIP 3 - MOORING PILE INSTALLATION project. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $ of is the lowest respoonsible and responsive bid for the base -bid of the proposal.
