IV MEETING OF SEP ii i91 d nm"lmt— K.- VA41-724; t CITY or P9lAPA1. 6I-ORIDA ). :R I "i9 R RPR—OFFI .,F E7AF-'.4FHOn ANDIL9 _ TO: Honorable Mayor and Members DATE: EP 3 190 FILM: of the City Commission z SUBJECT: Agenda Item Meeting of September 11, 1986 4 _ r= FROM: Cesar H • O d i REFERENCES: 1 age City Man ENCLOSURES: It is recommended that the attached resolution appointing two individuals to the City of Miami Audit Advisory Committee be adopted. 5` Section 2.237 of the City Code created the City of Miami Audit Advisory Committee with the functions of: Reviewing the City's audit and management letter. - Reviewing system of internal controls and compliance with GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association) requirements. + Review internal audit reports where it is felt by the internal auditor that fraud or criminal conduct may be involved. 1 Review the city manager's recommendation for selection of an independent auditor if requested by or directed by resolution of the City Commission. The City Code allows each member of the City Commission to recommend one member to the Committee, subject to appointment by the City Commission. 8y Resolution 86-563 three members were appointed to the Committee. Vice -Mayor Dawkins and Commissioner Kennedy have not made recommendations for membership to the Committee. According to the City Code, members are to be selected among the following: (a) A controller or chief financial officer of a large commercial enterprise (with size measured by dollar sales/revenue volume).
