A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK
OF FRE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. AT A
TOTAL COST OF $1,181,473.87 FOR EAST
LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE
I - (BIDS "C" b "D") IN EAST LITTLE HAVANA
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4487; AND
AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $125,267.96
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated December 18, 1984
between the City of Miami, Florida and FRE Construction
Company, Inc. for EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PHASE
I (BIDS "C" 8 "D"); and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed and
FRE Construction Company, Inc. has furnished the required
documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials
have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid
contract; and
WHEREAS, after a duly advertised public hearing held on.
September 11, 1986, to hear objections by persons interested in
or affected by City Commission acceptance of the completed
construction of EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PHASE I
(BIDS "C" b "D") in EAST LITTLE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-
4487, no objections were sustained; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be
accepted and final payment made to the contractor;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

It is recommended that a resolution be
adopted accepting the completed work
performed by FRE Construction Company, Inc.
at a total cost of $1,181,473.87 for EAST
LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE
I - (BIDS "C" & "D") and authorizing a final
payment of $125,267.96.
FRE Construction Company, Inc. has completed the project
consisting of constructing 2.5 miles of street, including
clearing and grading, construction of asphaltic pavement,
concrete curbs and/or gutters, concrete sidewalk, storm
sewers, and landscaping. The work is located in the area
bounded by S.W. Ist and 7th Streets and S.W. 4th and 8th
Avenues.
The original contract amount was $1,181,748.42, and the
completed cost is $1,181,473.87. The source of funds is
"East Little Havana Street Improvements" account.
At the Commission meeting of July 31, 1984 Resolution No. 84-
912 passed, directing the City Clerk to publish a Notice of
Public Hearing on EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT -
PHASE I (BIDS "C" b "D") at the completion of the project.
