RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ORDERING FAIRLAWN
SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT
SR-5515--C AND DESIGNATING THE
PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE FOR A
PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS
FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5515-C
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMY,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. That a sanitary sewer improvement identified as
FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5515-C shall be made
under the provisions of Section 56 of the Charter of the City -of
Miami, as amended, said IMPROVEMENT to consist of:
Laying an 8 inch or
larger Vitrified Clay and/or.

Laying six-inch (6") cast iron and/or Polyvinyl Chloride
pipe laterals, as required to the lots and parcels of land which
abut upon the above -mentioned streets, including the lots and
parcels of land described in Section 2 hereof; together with
necessary manholes, other appurtenances, pump stations, outfall,
connections to existing sewers, relaying street pavement,
sidewalks, and curb and gutters where such relaying is made
necessary by this improvement.
Section 2. Special Assessments for a portion of the cost of
said FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT SR-5515-C shall be
levied upon all the lots and parcels of land which abut upon the
above -mentioned streets, including the following described lots
and parcels of land, and such lots and parcels of 'land are hereby
designated FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-
5515-C.
To each of the lots and parcels of land which abut upon the
above -mentioned streets, including the following described lots
and parcels of land to the property line of which a sewer lateral
or laterals is laid, will be assessed (the average cost) of that
lateral or laterals, under the provisions of Section 56 of the
Charter of The City of Miami, as amended:

It is recommended that a resolution be
adopted ordering the construction of FAIRLAWN
SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
SR-5515-C (Centerline Sewer)
FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT consists
of properties in an area bounded by Southwest 61 Avenue,
Southwest 57 Avenue, West Flagler Street and Southwest 8
Street. The construction of this sanitary sewer improvement
is part of the City' s continuing program to provide sanitary
sewers throughout the City of Miami.
The area is presently served by septic tank and drainfield
installations which are to be abandoned by the property
owners after completion of the sanitary sewer system.
To serve this area, the Department of Public Works has
designated FAIRLAWN SOUTH SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT in
FAIRLAWN SOUTH SEWER IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT SR-5515-C
(Centerline sewer) as an assessable improvement under Section
56 of the City Charter. Each property designated for
assessment under the ordering resolution will receive a sewer
service lateral to the property line.

JOB SCOPE Construction of a sanitary sewer improvement
by private contractor under contract with the
City of Miami at an estimated total cost of
$2,000,000. This district consists of proper-
ties in an area bounded by S.W. 57 Avenue,
S.W, 61 Avenue, W. Flagler Street and S.W. 8 St.
REASON FOR WORK Part of the City's continuing program to
provide sanitary sewers throughout the City
of Miami.

SOURCE OF FUNDS General Obligation Bonds - Sanitary Sewer
PROJECT HISTORY This project is included in the 1960 $45`000,000
Bond Issue. The original Fairlawn district has
been split into three smaller districts to
promote bidding by minority contractors. The
three new districts are Winona SR-5494, Fairlawn
South SR-5515 and Fairlawn North SR-5491.
