TO gA ALLOCATED 0"ROM SPECIAL P¢tOGRAMS AND ' ACCOUS" t CONTINGENT FUND. , 'N WHEREASa the University of Miami's home football series provides family -oriented sports entertainment for the local community and all of South Florida; and WHEREAS* the University of Miami football team has gained national television rankings which creates national exposure for the Miami area; and WHEREAS, the University of Miami must have superior ticket sales for each of their home gaMeS in order to solicit the participation with other top national college teams across the nation; NOW, TUZRBFORE' BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorised to purchase two hundred reserved season tickets at a total cost of $16,600 for 1986 university of Miami home football games to be distributed to underprivileged individuals with funding for said purchase to be allocated from Special Programs and Accounts. OdlO City Manager i ENCLOSURES: It is recommended that a resolution be adopted to authorize the City Manager to purchase 200 University of Miami home football game season tickets to be distributed to underprivileged individuals. Funding for said purchase to be allocated from Special Programs and Accounts. .The University of Miami's football team has gained national television rankings which creates national exposure for the Miami area. The University of Miami must have superior ticket sales for each of their home games in order to continue scheduling other top ranked college teams. The University of Miami's home football series provides family - oriented sports entertainment for the local community. The attached resolution would approve the purchase of 200 University of Miami season tickets for distribution to underprivileged individuals.
