HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-0765J-86-792 9/9/86 RESOLUTION NO.86-76351 A RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY ACCEPTING THE ATTACHED CITY CLERK'S CERTIFICATION AND DECLARATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELL) ON SEPTEMBER 2. 1986 IN WHICH THE MODIFICATION OF THE MAXIMUM INTEREST RATE OF 7-1/2% PER ANNUM, PAYABLE ON THE REMAINING UNISSUED $4,000,000 PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED $7,000,000 POLLUTION CONTROL AND INCINERATOR FACILITIES BONDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, AS PROVIDED UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 101290' TO ALLOW INTEREST TO BE PAID ON SAID BONDS AT A RATE OR RATES NOT EXCEEDING THE RATE PROVIDED FOR BY STATUTES OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA BUT NOT TO EXCEED TEN PER CENTUM (10%) PER ANNUM, WAS DISAPPROVED BY THE ELECTORATE; FURTHER OFFICIALLY ACCEPTING THE ATTACHED CITY CLERK'S CERTIFICATION AND DECLARATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON SEPTEMBER 2. 1986 IN WHICH THE MODIFICATION OF THE MAXIMUM INTEREST RATE OF 7-1/2% PER ANNUM, PAYABLE ON THE REMAINING UNISSUED $2,375,000 PREVIOUSLY AUTHORIZED $17,375,000 STREET AND HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT BONDS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, AS PROVIDED UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 10131, TO ALLOW INTEREST TO BE PAID ON SAID. BONDS AT A RATE OR RATES NOT EXCEEDING THE RATE PROVIDED FOR BY STATUTES OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA BUT NOT TO EXCEED TEN PER CENTUM (10%) PER ANNUM, WAS DISAPPROVED BY THE ELECTORATE. BE.IT.RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Seotion 1. The City Commission hereby offioially aooepts the attaohed City Clerk's Certifioation and Deolaration of the results of the Speoial Municipal Eleotion held on September 2. 1986 in whioh the modifioation of the maximum interest rate of 7-1/2% per annum, payable on the remaining unissued $4,000,000 previously authorized $7,000,000 Pollution Control and Inoinerator Faoilities Bonds of the City of Miami, as provided under Ordinanoe No. 10129, to allow interest to be paid on said Bonds at a rate or rates not exceeding the rate provided for by statutes of the State of Florida but not to exoeed ten per oentum (10%) per annum, was disapproved. I, MATTY HIRAI, City Clerk of the City of Miami, Florida, do hereby certify that all necessary legal steps were taken in connection with the conduct of a City of Miami Special Election September 2, 1986 including the following Logic and Accuracy Tests: August 29, 1986 at 9:00 A.M. the Dade County Canvassing Board had the automatic tabulating equipment based at the Elections Department and O.C.S.I.S. offices at the Metro -Dade Center tested to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the precinct and absentee ballot votes cast for the measures. September 2, 1986 at 5:00 P.M. the automatic tabulating equipment based at the Elections Department and O.C.S.I.S. offices at the Metro -Dade Center was once again tested to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the precinct votes cast for the measures. At the completion of the precinct ballot count, the automatic tabulating equipment was again tested to ascertain that the x equipment correctly counted the precinct votes cast for the toe aaures. September 3, 1986, commencing at approximately 9:00 A.M. the t'. auto vatic tabulating equipment based at the Elections Department died O.C.S.I.S. offices at the Metro -Dade Center was tested to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the absentee ballot votes cast for the measures. At the completion of the absentee ballot count, the automatic '.` tabulating equipment was again tested to ascertain that the equipment correctly counted the absentee ballot votes cast for F, the measures. I do hereby further certify that all documents concerning these Logic and Accuracy Tests showed the computer to be . functioning correctly and are in the possession of the Supervisor of Elections of Metropolitan Dade County, under seated vault.
