AN ORDINANCE ADDS A NEN S$CTION a-300
ENTITLED'FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE-o TO
CRAFTER 2 OF THE CODS OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED; SETTING
FORTH REQUTRENRNTS OF AW AL DISCLOSURE
BY CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF
INFORMATION RELATED TO THE FINANCIAL
STATUS OF SAID OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES;
CONTAINING PENALTIES, A REPEALER
PROVISION AND A SEVERAAILITY CLAUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A new Section 2--309, a itled "Pinanoial
Disclosure" is hereby added to Chapter 2 t e Code of the City
of Miami. Florida, as amended:
"Sec. 2-309. Finanoial dieo
A. (1) In ad on to fluanoial disclosure

city commissio er city employees serving in
unclassified po ti and all persona who receive
compensation for t it services as members of City
Boards are required to provide the following
informations the city clerk in writing by duly 1 of
each year:
a. Desoript of all assets which have a value

(2) An affidavit of the person reporting shall be

executed attesting to the aoouraoy of the disclosures.
B. As an alternative to the requirement set forth in
Subsection A above, a copy of the reporting person's
filed return for the current year's Federal xnoome Tax
Return may be provided.

C. Any elected official who is a partner in a law firm
or a stockholder in a professional association must
disclose, in writing, to the City Clerk the name of any
client whose representation results in a contribution
of ten (10) peroent or more of the gross income (1) to
the law firm in which said official is a partner; or,

(2) to the professional association in which said
official is a stockholder or has an ownership interest;
Or to they elected official direotly.
D. Every person who is convicted of a violation of
this seotion shall be punished by a fine not to exceed
five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment in the
county jail for not more than thirty (30) days, or by
both snoh fine and imprisonment . "

0e0tion E. All Ordinances or parts of ordinano®s insofar
as they are inoonsistent or in oonfliot with the provisions of
this ordinanoe are hereby repealed.
Seotion 3. if any seotion, part of seotion, paragraph,
Clause. phrase, or word of this ordinance Lei deolared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be afteoted.
Seotian 4. It is the intention of the City Commission that
the provisions of this ordinance shall become and be made a part
of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, whioh
provision may be renumbered or relettered and that the word
"ordinanoe" may be changed to "seotion". "article", or other
appropriate word to accomplish such intention.
