RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION GRANTING, UPON THE ISSUANCE OF A
TEMPORARY PERMIT BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
BUSINESS REGULATION, DIVISION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES AND TOBACCO, AND A CITY OF MIAMI
BEER -WIND PERMIT, THE REQUEST OF THE MIAMI r'
RIVER COORDINATING COMMITTEE AND CO-SPONSORS
TO SELL BEER AND WINE IN BRICKELL PARK ON =`
OCTOBER 24, 1986 AND IN MIAMI RIVER RAPIDS
PARK ON OCTOBER 26, 1986 IN CONNECTION WITH
THE MIAMI RIVER FESTIVAL; FURTHER ALLOCATING
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $8,950.00 FROM
SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS TO COVER THE
COST FOR CITY IN -KIND SERVICES AND REES
RELATED TO SAID EVENT; SUBJECT TO THE
ISSUANCE OF ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW AND
COMPLIANCE WITH SUCH CONDITIONS AND
LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY
OF MIAMI.
WHEREAS, the Miami River Coordinating Committee with the
Brickell Area Association and the Miami River Business

Association, has planned the Miami River Festival for three
dates, October 24, 25 and 26, 1986 in Brickell, Jose Marti and
Miami River Rapids Parks, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10085 of March 18, 1986 authorizes the
City Manager to permit the sale of Beer or Wine in six (6)
specific City Parks, including Jose Marti; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 9818 of April 5, 1984, authorized the
City Commission to permit the dispensing of beer or wine in soft
containers in any City park upon such conditions and limitations
as the City Commission shall prescribe; and
. WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department
of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities recommend that the
sponsors be permitted to sell beer in two additional parks,
Brickell and Miami River Rapids, during the scheduled hours of
,the event and that funding be provided to cover costs for City
in -kind services and fees:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MAIMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Upon the issuance of a temporary permit by the
Florida State Department of Business Regulation, Division of
Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, to sell beer and wine, and upon
issuance of a City of Miami Beer -Wine Permit pursuant to the City
Code, the request of the Miami River Coordinating Committee and
Co -Sponsors to sell beer and wine for two (2) one -day periods in
connection with the Miami River Fe

October 24, 1986 in Srickell Park and on October 28, 1986 in
Miami Rivar 1tapids bark, is hereby granted in compliance with
ordinance No. 981.8 and No. 10085, further 'sub jest to the issuance
of all permits required by law.
Section 2. An amount not to exceed $8,950.00 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund to F
cover costs for City in -kind services '.and fees.

Section 3. The aforemention authorizations and approvals are
subject to and contingent upon the organization's compliance with
any applicable administrative directives and/or requirements.
