HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-0810J- 86-807 RESOLUTION NO A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, APPROVING AND CONFIRMING, BY A 4/5THS AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION, THE ACTIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER IN FINDING THE REPAIR OF ONE (1) ROLLING STEEL DOOR AT THE COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER TO BE AN EMERGENCY PROJECT AND IN AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF AN EMERGENCY PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE REPAIR OF SAID STEEL DOOR TO BAST GARAGE DOOR, INC. TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED COST OF $13,620.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1985-86 OPERATING BUDGET. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 27, 1986 for furnishing all labor and materials to repair one (1) rolling steel door at the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 13 potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase were available in the 1985-86 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service is to be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of repairing a rolling steel door; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommended that the bid received from Best Garage Door, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; WHEREAS, the City Manager has made a written finding that a valid emergency need existed as this door was inoperable and in urgent need of repair; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: "Y COMBUSSION MEETING Off` 7 1986 OCT.'Ak to s I l Section 1. The City Manager's action in authorizing the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order to Best Garage Door, Inc. in the amount of $13,620.00 for the repair of one (1) rolling steel door at the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center to the Department of General Services Administration with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1985-86 Operating Budget, is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. Also to authorize the issuance of an emergency purchase order for the total cost of these services, $13,620.00, funds are available innttle contract repair account budget. General Services Administration Department reviewed the bids received. The lowest acceptable bid submitted to repair the roll -up door was from Best Garage Door, Inc., for $13,620.00.
