A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ORANGE
BLOSSOM CLASSIC PARADE TO BE
SPONSORED BY THE FLORIDA A & M
UNIVERSITY NATIONAL ALUMNI
ASSOCIATION, MIAMI CHAPTER, ON
OCTOBER 18, 1986 AUTHORIZING THE
CLOSURE OF DESIGNATED STREETS TO
THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC SUBJECT
TO THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE
DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE,
-RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES AND
ASSURANCES THAT THE CITY WILL BE
INSURED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL
LIABILITY; CONDITIONED UPON THE
ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL COSTS OF
CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID
EVENT.
WHEREAS, the Orange Blossom Classic Parade will be
conducted by the Florida A & M University Alumni Association on
October 18, 1986; and
WHEREAS, certain streets shall be closed to through
vehicular traffic during the specified dates and hours to insure
the safety of the participants and pedestrians attending this
activity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the
Orange Blossom Classic Parade the following streets are hereby
closed to through vehicular traffic from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on
Saturday, October 18, 1986:
N.W. 50 Street from N.W. 12th Avenue to N.W. 15th Avenue
N.W: 12th Avenue from N.W. 50 Street to N.W. 54 Street
N.W. 54 Street from N.W. 7th Avenue to N.W. 12th Avenue
N.W. 7th Avenue from N.W. 54 Street to N.W. 71 Street
N.W. 71 Street from N.W. 7th Avenue West to City Limits
Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues,
allays, ways and thoroughfares which intersect the
enumerated areas delineated in this Section.
Section 2. Such closing of streets is subject to the

Of Police is to be issued upon the full approval of the Chief of
Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and
f
traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions
in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and
upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgement
predicated upon all factors set forth herein. `?
Section 3. Such closing of streets is subject to the s
organizers obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the
City of Miami, Finance Department, Risk Management Division.
Section 4. Said authorization is hereby conditioned upon
the organizers paying for all costs of City services associated
with said event.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of October , 1986.

it is recommended that the City
Commission adopt the attached
resolution authorizing the closure
of certain streets to through
vehicular traffic during the Orange
Blossom Classic Parade, sponsored by
the Florida A & M University Alumni
Association, scheduled for October
18, 1986.
The Florida A & M Alumni Association has requested the closure of
certain streets for its Orange Blossom Classic Parade. In order
to provide safe passage during the event, it is recommended that
the following streets be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:00
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 1986 :
N.W. 50 Street from N.W. 12th Avenue to N.W. 15th Avenue
N.W. 12th Avenue from N.W. 50 Street to N.W.54 Street
N.W. 54 Street from N.W. 7th Avenue to N.W. 12th Avenue
N.W. 7th Avenue from N.W. 54 Street to N.W. 71 Street
N.W. 71 Street from N.W. 7th Avenue West to City Limits
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached
resolution.
