A O A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING 530.000 FROM THE FY'86-87 SPECIAL I.NP ACCOUNTS FUND TO COYER THE COST OF FEE INCREASES FOR SUBMISSION OF THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL. IMPACT (D.R.I.) APPLICATION TO THE SOUTH FLORIDA REGIONAL PLANNING COUNCIL. WHEREAS, since the FY'85-86 budget request was prepared allocating the required $20,000 for the Downtown Development of Regional Impact (D.R.I.) application fee, the South Florida Regional Planning Council has increased the fee from $20,000 to $40,000 with the option to require up to an additional $10,000 if warranted by the South Florida Regional Planning Council staff time and expenses, and; WHEREAS, by agreement with the Florida Department of Community Affairs dated June 24, 1985, as amended, the City, through the Downtown Development Authority, committed to the submission of an Application for Development Approval for Downtown Miami as a DRI pursuant to Section 380.06(21), Florida Statutes by November 25, 1986; and WHEREAS, said agreement was entered into to expedite the development of the Bayside Specialty Center and the Bayfront Park Redevelopment projects; and WHEREAS, economic growth downtown and City control of downtown growth management will be stimulated by an approved downtown DRI. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The sum of $30,000 will be allocated from the FY'86-'87 Special Programs and Accounts Fund to cover the cost of fee increases for submission of the Downtown Development of Regional Impact (D.R.I.) Application to the South Florida Regional Planning Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of October 1986. It is recommended that the City Commission allocate $30,000 from the Special Programs and Accounts Fund of the FY'86-'87 budget, to cover the cost of fee increases for submission of the Powntown Development of Regional Impact (D.R.I.) ^plication to the South Florida Regional Planning Council, per the attached Resolution. Since the FY'85-'86 budget request was prepared, allocating the required $20,000 for the Downtown Development of Regional Impact (D.R.I.) application fee, the South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC) has increased the fee, from $20,000 to $40,000 with the option to require up to an additional $10,000 if warranted by the SFRPC staff time and expenses. The Downtown D.R.I. application, by agreement with the Floridi Department of Community Affairs, must be submitted on November 25, 1986. CHO/SR Attachment
