Odio City Manager For City Commission Meeting ENCLOSURES: of November 13, 1986 n •^1 ma RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that an Award be made and a Resolution be passed accepting the lowest responsive and responsible bid as received from Tree Masters, Inc. a demolition contractor, for the demolition and clearing away of debris from the property located at 5770 N.W. 15 Avenue at a total cost of $11,444.00. BACKGROUND: The Department of Building and Zoning has analyzed the need to execute the attached resolution for the award of bid for the demolition of one CBS commercial structure. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received September 24, 1986 for furnishing materials and equipment needed to demolish and clear away the debris from the structure as directed by the Building and Zoning Department, Code Enforcement Section. The subject building has become an eyesore. It is vacant, unsecured, a haven for vagrants; and just in the recent past it has been identified as the source of criminal activity. This along with the fact that it posses a threat to Firefighters and Police Officers responding to the frequent calls from the equally endangered and outraged property owners in the area justify the need for its removal. 1 =2= a Funds are to be provided by the Community Development Program account cede 0451001 205 702202 as property acquisition by the i Housing Conservation & Development Agency.
