SUBJECT TO STATE APPROVAL, AN I) Tfir ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE, RF- SC[1E AND INSPECTION SERVICES, AND ASSURANCES THAT THE CITY WILL BE 114SURED AGAINST A11Y POTENTIAL LIABILITY; SAID AUTIiORIZATION SUBJECT TO THE ORGANIZERS PAYING FOR ALL COSTS OF CITY SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EVENT. WHEREAS, the Sunstreet Festival Committee, Inc. has requested authorization to sell beer and wine and the closure of certain streets in connection with the 1986 Sunstreet Festival to be held on December 6, 1986; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Upon the issuance of a temporary permit by the Florida State Department of Business Regulation, Division of { Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco to sell beer and wine, and pursuant to City Code, the request of the Sunstreet Festival Committee, Inc. to sell beer and wine for a one -day period in connection with the 1986 Sunstreet Festival to be held December 6, 1986, is hereby granted, subject to the issuance of all i 3 permits required by law; Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage during the t986 Sunstreet Festival, the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic on December 6, 1986 during the hours specified below: From 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.: N.W. 7th Avenue from N.W. 49th Street to N.W. 71st Street N.W. 71st Street from N.W. 7th Avenue to N.W. 12th Avenue Cam' COMMSION MUTING 0 S6-8 ' • ' sltu 't 64 :ads 4 From 700 AM. to 7:00 F.M.t N.W. 7th .Yvenup from N.W. 54th Street to N.W. 62nd Street Included in the herein closure are all streets, avenues, al1eP, days and thoroughfares which intersect the ent.M.Prryted areas delineated in this Section. Section ?. Such closing of streets is subject to the issuance of permits by the Departments of Police and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services. Said permit from the Department of Police is to be issued upon the full. approval of the Cbief of Police after giving all due consideration to the safety and traffic needs of residents, businesses and religious institutions in the area for entering and crossing through said arterials and upon the favorable exercise of the City Manager's judgement predicated upon all factors set forth herein. Section 3. Such closing of streets is subject to the organizers of the 19BG Sunstreet Festival obtaining insurance requirements as mandated by the City of Miami, Finance Department, Risk Management Division. Section 4. Said authorization is hereby conditioned upon the organizers paying for all costs of City services associated with said event. NO f Members of the City Commission SUBJECT Resolution Authorizing Street Closure and Permit to SeI.l Beer and Wine for the 1Q86 Sunstreet FROM: REFERENCES:Fe s t iva 1 Cesar H. odio City Manager ENCLOSURES:COMMigSion Agenda Item November 13, 1986 RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the necessary street closures and a one (1) day permit to sell beer and wine in connection with the 1986 Sunstreet Festival and Parade to be conducted by the Sunstreet Festival Committee on December 6, 1986, subj ,:t to the issuance of all permits required by law and compliance with such conditions and limitations as prescribed by the City of Miami. BACKGROUND: The Department of Community Development has prepared the appropriate legislation in connection with the 1986 Sunstreet Festival and Parade to be conducted on December 6, 1986 in the Miami -Liberty City area. The Sunstreet Festival Committee Inc. has requested authorization to sell beer and wine, as well as the closure of certain streets, in connection with the aforementioned festival. The attached resolution authorizes the necessary street closures and the sale of beer and wine during the event. Attachment: (1) Proposed Resolution
