HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-0965J-86-1087 12/11/86 RESOLUTION NO. 146-0965 A RESOLUTION EXTENDING DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE CITY COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MAYOR EDWARD KING OF MOUNT PLEASANT, IOWA, WHO WAS KILLED WHILE PERFORMING HIS PUBLIC DUTIES; ALSO EXPRESSING SOLIDARITY WITH MOUNT PLEASANT COUNCIL MEMBERS JOANN SANKEY AND RONALD DUPREE WHO WERE WOUNDED IN YESTERDAY'S TRAGIC EVENT IN THAT CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of Miami, Florida, the City Commission hereby extends deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Mayor Edward King of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, who was killed performing his public duties. Section 2. This Resolution is offered by the City Commission as an expression of solidarity with Mount Pleasant Council members JoAnn Sankey and Ronald Dupree who were wounded in yesterday's tragic event in that City.
