HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem #39 - First Reading Ordinance31-86-1066 it It 12/2/86 ORDINANCE NO - Ali ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "HISTORIC PRESERVATION: BUENA VISTA"; AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF SAME IN THE AMOUNT OF $11,000, CONSISTING OF A $5,500 GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA: DEPARTMENT OF STATE; AND $5,500 FROM FISCAL YEAR 1986-87 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT: CITYWIDE HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND PLANNING ADMINISTRATION; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the United States Department of the Interior: National Park Service administers the historic preservation program authorized by the National storic Preser►Lation Act of 1966, as amended; and WHEREA an iCPre. S�arvati on Trust Fund has been established by the State of Florida -ten r authority of Section 267.0617, Florida Statutes, which includes a part of the deral funds apportioned annually to the State by the United States Departme -of the Interior and other funds appropriated by the State legislature for historic p _ ion activities; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida: D partment of State; Division of Archives, History and Records Management has offered the City of Miami a $5,500 grant- in-aid to conduct historic Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the Commission of the accepted said grant-in-aid, and the Ci Buena Vista and Biscayne ami, per Resolution No. 86-705, uted the grant agreement; and WHEREAS, activities to be accomplished unde ant' program include preparation of a local historic district designatio or Buena Vista and a nomination to the National Register of Historic Places f historic buildings on Biscayne Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the Planning Department will use existing staff to meet the fifty percent local match requirement of the grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA;
