ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF
$586,261.64,MADE AVAILABLE AS A RESULT OF
THE SETTLEMENT OF THE CITY'S DISPUTE WITH
DADE COUNTY OVER THE COUNTY'S ASSUMPTION OF
CONTROL OVER THE MIANI-DADE WATER AND SEWER
AUTHORITY AS A SPECIAL REVENUE FUND IN THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND
(CDBG) ACCOUNT ELEVENTH YEAR, WHICH AMOUNT
IS ALSO BEING TRANSFERRED FROM SAID *FUND
TO THE CDBG ELEVENTH YEAR CONTINGENCY
BUDGET FUND; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION
AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, on November 18, 1985, an agreement was reached
between the City of Miami and Metropolitan Dade County over a
disput regard In he latter's takeover of the Miami -Dade Water
and Sewe ty; a
WHEREAS, a result of said agreement the City received the
amount of $1,5 ,663.39 for reimbursement of Sanitary Sewers -
constructed by the y with Sanitary Sewer G.O. Bond Funds and
Community Developmen ock Grant Funds and $987,401.75 of
the reimbursement amount was returned to the Sanitary Sewer Bond
Fund account and the remain - 1.64 to the Community
Development Block Grant Fun account.,,_as a Sp ial Revenue Fund;
and
WHEREAS, said amount'.,. of $1,5739663.39 represents
reimbursement to the City of Miami sewer improvements which
were an obligation of the Water and wer Authority under the
1975 Tripartite Agreement; and
WHEREAS, said amount was credited the Eleventh Year
Community Development account, in com a federal rules
and regulations, as program income un other, eligible
activities; and
WHEREAS, said sum will be made available through this
ordinance to provide financial and technical assistance to
minority entrepreneurs seeking to locate in the City's Bayside
Specialty Center, as reflected in Resolution No. 86-216, *dopted
March 18, 1986;
