HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-86-1027J86-1088 12/11/86 RESOLUTION NO. 8G-102 i A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, IN SUPPORT OF THE MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY PARADE TO BE HELD JANUARY 19, 1987; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO APM-1- 84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. An amount not to exceed $5,000 from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, is hereby allocated in support of the 1987 Martin Luther King Day Parade to be held on January 19, 1987. Section 3. The herein allocation is hereby conditioned upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984. As the second birthday approaches,the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Festivities Committee, Inc. is planning events and coordinating a calendar of events honoring Dr. King's birthday. The committee is again seeking the City of Miami's sponsor- ship of events following the 1987 theme: "Dare to Dream in Unity, Peace and Brotherhood." I and members of the committee would be very happy►to discuss the various ways the City of Miami can join in partnership in events surrounding Dr. King's birthday.
