The Honorable Xavier L. Suarez
Mayor, City -of Miami
P.O. Box 330708
Miami, FL 33233
Dear Mayor Suarez:
It is almost a year since Dr. King's birthday was celebrated
as a national holiday. As the second birthday approaches, the
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Festivities Committee,
Inc. is planning events and coordinating a calendar of events
honoring Dr. King's birthday.
The committee is again seeking the City of Miami's sponsor-
ship of events following the 1987 theme: "Dare to Dream in
Unity, Peace and Brotherhood."
I and members of the committee would be very happy►to discuss
the various ways the City of Miami can join in partnership
in events surrounding Dr. King's birthday.
I may be contacted at the above address, or by calling
835-2464 before 1 p.m. and 635-7341 from 2 - 10 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
Please place me on the next city commission agenda.
