FOR FURNISHING AIR CONDITIONING MAINTENANCE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $28,061.52; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1986-87 OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS SERVICE. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received October 20, 1986 for furnishing Air Conditioning Maintenance Service at the Police Department Building on a contract basis renewable annually to the Department of General Services Administration; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 32 potential suppliers and 7 bids was received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1986-87 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of General Services Administration for the purpose of providing air conditioning maintenance to the Police Department Building; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of General Services Administration recommend that the bid received from Temptrol Air Conditioning Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF DEC 11 1986 C-S0U1110N No. 86-993. Section 1. The October 20, 1986 bid of Temptrol Air Conditioning Inc. for furnishing air conditioning maintenance service at the Police Department Building to the Department of General Services Administration on a contract basis for one year renewable annually for a total proposed first year cost of $28,061.52 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1986-87 Operating Budget of that Department. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Chief Procurement Officer to issue a Purchase Order for this service. Building ENCLOSURES It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for furnishing Air Conditioning Maintenance on a contract basis for one (1) year at the Police Department Building, 400 N.W. Second Avenue, to Temptrol Air Conditioning, Inc., the Lowest complete responsive bidder in accord with Bid No. 86-87-010. Total cost of these services will be $28,061.52, which funds are available in the Property Maintenance Division budget of the General Services Administration Department. BACKGROUND: The General Services Administration Department has analyzed bids received pursuant to bid #86-87-010, to furnish air conditioning maintenance services for one (1) year to the Miami Police Department Building and has recommended award be made to Temptrol Air Conditioning, Inc., as the lowest acceptable responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $28,061.52. This contract may be renewed annually by mutual consent of the City and the vendor in accord with price adjustment provisions as stated in the bid documents, subject to the availability of funds.
