Pursuant to Resolution No. 88-1082, adopted
October 24, 1983, Alan Rosenthal was engaged as special counsel
to the City's Code Enforcement Board. Employment of special
counsel to this Board is required by law since the City Attorney
prosecutes code violations before the Board and is not allowed to
both represent the Board and prosecute cases before the Board.
The monies allocated as compensation at the time of Mr.
Rosenthal's employment have been expended on a periodic basis and
are nearly depleted. Accordingly, an additional allocation of an
amount not to exceed $30,000 is hereby requested from funds which
have already been appropriated in the 1986-87 Operating Budget.
