The Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities has been hosting "The Youth Baseball World Series" for the past six years. The series attracts teams from all over IN South America and the Caribbean. This year six (6) teams will participate, and the series is expected to attract 15,000 spectators throughout the week. Teams form Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela are scheduled to arrive 'in Miami on August 9, 1987. For the first day of the Series, admission to Miami Stadium will be free to the public. The subsidiary Pony League Program includes support for the City of Miami teams that participate in international play. This Series gives the Department of Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities the opportunity to showcase the "Magic City" as a tourist, youth oriented, recreation and sports community. Each delegation is accompanied by members of the International Press, which will transmit these positive images to their residents, our future tourists, through the mass media.
