HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-87-004241 0 J-87-40 12/29/86 RESOLUTION NO. 87 -4 2 A RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING TWO MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI FIRE FIGHTERS' AND POLICE OFFICERS' RETIREMENT TRUST AS PROVIDED FOR BY CITY OF MIAMI ORDINANCE NO. 10002, SECTIONS 40-201 AND 40-202 FOR SPECIFIED TERMS OF OFFICE. WHEREAS, reappointments need to be made to the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees and terms of office specified: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following individuals are hereby reappointed as members of the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust Board of Trustees to serve a full term of office which begins January 1, 1987 and expires December 31, 1987. Section 2. The above reappointments are made pursuant to City Ordinance No. 10002, Sections 40-201 and 40-202. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of January 1 87. ATTFS XAVIER L. Recommendation: It is recommended that the reappointing two members to Police officers' Retirement Background: December 21, 1986 DATE: FILE: Fire and Police SUBJECT Retirement Board Appointments REFERENCES: City Commission Agenda January d, 1987 ENCLOSURES: City Commission approve the attached the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Trust. City of Miami Code sections 40-2fb1 and 40-202, (Ordinance #10002), provide for the appointment of a nine member board of trustees to administer and manage the retirement plan known as the "City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust." Of these nine members, one is to be selected by the City Manager, two by the Fire Fighters' (IAFF bargaining unit) and two by the Police Officers' (FOP bargaining unit). Four independent trustees are to be selected by the City Commission. Last September 1985, the City Commission made some initial appointments and constituted the first board of trustees to administer the City of Miami Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Retirement Trust. Of these original appointments, two are expiring: (1) The appointment of Robert Weilbacher was made by the Fire Fighters from the bargaining unit represented by the IAFF and they wish to reappoint the same individual for a term of office which begins January 1, 1987 and expires December 31, 1988. (2) The appointment of Donald March, jr. was made by Police Officers' from the bargaining unit represented by the FOP, and they also wish to reappoint the same individual for a term of office which begins January 1, 1987 and expires December 31, 1988.
